HydraFacial Q & A

by James Meyer, MD

What is HydraFacial?

The HydraFacial treatment is a non-invasive treatment that provides instant results for all skin types with no downtime. The HydraFacial is a (30 min) treatment that removes dead skin cells and extracts impurities while simultaneously delivering the skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturizing serums. The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating and immediately effective.

Is HydraFacial treatment is designed for all skin types?

The HydraFacial treatment is designed for all skin types. Even the most sensitive skin easily tolerates the HydraFacial treatment. Your physician or skincare professional may choose specific treatment serums and/or customize the treatment for your unique skin conditions and needs.

How long does the treatment take?

HydraFacial is a fast, efficient treatment that takes as little as 30 minutes.

What results may be expected?

Many clients report seeing visible skin refinement and an even, radiant skin tone after just one treatment. The smooth results and hydration may last 5 to 7 days or even longer.

Can the Signs of Aging Be Prevented?

A person’s skin tone is often determined by genetics. Aside from what a person can’t control, there are several things they can do to prevent the signs of aging from taking over. Reducing the amount of time spent in direct sunlight is one of the most important ways to reduce skin damage. Eliminating cigarettes is another way. Cigarette smoke robs the skin of moisture, and exposure to the smoke itself can cause the skin to deteriorate much quicker. Use mild cleansers and moisturize often. Keeping the skin moisturized is important when trying to fight lines and wrinkles. Moisturizers are available that have sunscreens added to them for extra protection.

What Types of Imperfections Can Facials Correct?

The type of facial being used will determine what type of corrections can be made. In most cases, blemishes, mild acne scars, sun spots, fine lines, light wrinkles, and skin discolorations may be visibly reduced. Proper skin care may be what is needed the most when it comes to correcting minor imperfections. Facials work well at keeping the skin well-toned and nourished. This can prevent fine lines from appearing and will also keep the pores clean, preventing pimples or acne outbreaks. Monthly facials may also be beneficial at helping the skin retain moisture and elasticity.
